David Foster Obituary

Dave Lee Foster was born on October 29, 1948, to Clement “Bim” and Mildred “Millie” (Schneider) Foster in Seward, Nebraska. He attended school in Seward from Kindergarten through High School, graduating with the class of 1967. His first job was at the Seward Bakery, and he had many fond memories of working there.

Dave served in the United States Army from 1967-1988, as a supply and parts sergeant. His tours overseas included serving in the Vietnam War, as well as being stationed in Okinawa, Japan and South Korea. He was very proud of his military service. Following his discharge, Dave worked at several different jobs, the most recent being for Sampson Construction before retiring in 2006.

In his free time, he enjoyed being active with the American Legion Post #273 in Brainard and Dwight Post #110 as well as the VFW Post #4755 in Seward. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. His passing leaves a hole in our hearts that we will fill with memories and gratitude.

Dave passed away on March 19, 2024, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 75. He is survived by his children, Ben (Brooke) Foster of Ruther Glen, Virgina and Catherine Jensen of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren: Emlyn, Maisie, Rhett, Birdie and Rush Foster, Michael Wright and Westley Jensen; brother, Steve Foster of Omaha, Texas; sister, Judy (Foster) Bluhm of Ashland, Nebraska. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Bim and Millie Foster, his brother-in-law Fred Bluhm, grandparents and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
