Leonard Hulse Obituary

Leonard Lee Hulse was born on July 1, 1946 to Riley and Mae (Miller) Hulse in Brush, Colorado. He spent his younger years enjoying the farm life and attending country schools.  After graduation from Utica High School, he joined the United States Navy serving for 4 years from 1965 to 1969, on the ships, U.S.S. America and U.S.S. Enterprise, going to many countries around the world including Viet Nam after which he received an honorary discharge.  Upon returning from the service, he attended Northeast College receiving an Associates of Art Degree in 1971 and went on the earn his Bachelor of Science Degree from Wayne State College in 1975.  Leonard became the official guardian of Duane for Duane was much younger than the rest of the children.  He retired in June of 2013 after 28 years at Kroy Industries in York. In his free time, he enjoyed astrology, hunting, fishing and watching football.  He took many trips to Tennessee to visit Duane and his large family.  On April 5, 2024, the angels came to take Leonard home.  He died in Tennessee while on an Easter trip to visit his brother Duane and his family.    He is survived by his siblings, Ronald (Becky) Hulse of Utica, Nebraska, Beverly Wood of Lincoln, Nebraska and Duane (Jeanne) Hulse of Bradyville, Tennessee; many nieces and nephews.  Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Mae Hulse and brother-in-law, Gary Wood. Although Leonard maintained a private lifestyle, he was a driven and passionate worker who helped a lot of people. He had a very loving, caring and generous heart! His family will miss him dearly.
